A native of New England, Sharon Rose moved to Missouri to be near her family in 1988. Originally a cardiac and trauma nurse, she realized a lifelong dream of retiring from the nursing profession in 1999 in order to teach and train horses and students as a full time job. A successful riding instructor and trainer, she has spent over 30 years studying, learning and managing the business of equestrian care, barn operations, show competition and clinic administration. While she prefers to teach the combined three-day event, Sharon is well versed in all of the English and Western riding disciplines. She offers individual as well as small group riding lessons to students of all ages and abilities. She has a limited number of schooling horses available but also welcomes students who provide their own mounts. As a former nurse, she is certified in first aid and stresses safety, for horse and rider, in all aspects of training and riding. Call Sharon at 573-268-4366 for more information.
Owner of Greystone and Texan by birth, Kathryn Tanner always wanted her own horse. After moving to Missouri, her dream was realized in October of 2000 when she acquired a retired motion picture horse from her friends at Movin On Livestock. She has been actively pursing her love of all things equine ever since. In July 2005, she purchased 360 acres of beautiful Missouri countryside and with her best friend, Sharon, built Greystone Equestrian Center, LLC. Their plans include continuing to expand the current facilities with the future goal of being the premier boarding and training facility in the mid-Missouri area. Shows, clinics, day camps, trail rides and many other events are in the works so come out and see us!
